Steps For Cleaning Your PVC Blinds In case you think that it is okay to avoid the cleaning of your blinds since they are made from plastic like materials then you are wrong. Cleaning them time to time is very important because once the dust or dirt settles on its surface it is quite difficult to get rid of them. In worst case scenario, you may even have to replace them.   1. You should know that your PVC blinds are made of a very simple material, so you will need quite regular materials to clean them. In case, you are going for a deep clean, you will require a feather duster or a brush, water, and detergent. These are all you will need to clean your blinds from top to bottom.

  2. Before you start with the cleaning, it is necessary to get rid of the dust and dirt that can be easily cleaned without the use of water or detergent. For this task, you can use the brush or the feather duster. Cleaning the dust before using water will make the work convenient.

  3. If the PVC blinds are made of slats then do clean them one after the other and do it separately. Make sure that there is not a single speck of dust remaining before you use water. You can use a brush for it. In case the window is quite huge then you can also use a vacuum cleaner for it.

  4. If your blind is removable then the task becomes a lot easier. You can bring it down and wash it in a tub with warm water and mild detergent.

  5. After you soak the blind for a few minutes, you can see the surface dust and dirt coming out from it. In case you are planning to do a deep cleaning, you can use a sponge and slowly and carefully scrub it to wash away the embedded dirt on it. After taking it out from water, pat it dry with a cloth and then keep it in one place until it is dried completely. After that, you can put it back on the window.

  6. In case you cannot remove the blind, use the mixture of warm water and detergent on the slats with the sponge. For a deep clean, wash the closed area first then slowly come out to the open area. For an enhanced result, you can always use a specific cleaner. You can use a normal duster for regular cleaning of the PVC blinds. But you need to deep clean the blinds at least twice a year for maintaining its good condition.
